The antennal lobe-mushroom body connection. Composite from two successive optical sections (total depth approximately from Y =3 to Y - 6) showing the passage of axons from the antennal lobes to the mushroom body calyces (m.b.ca) via the inner antenno-cerebral tract, also known as the antenno-glomerular tract (ant-gl.t). Elements of the ant. lob are also shown. Afferents to the protocerebral bridge (p. b) derive from the superior medial protocerebrum. Lateral protocerebral (l.pr) and ventrolateral deutocerebral (v.l.deu) elements are shown to the right (-X). The central body (c.b) complex is notable by its absence!
