The fan-shaped body and noduli. A composite from 3 optical sections showing dense impregnation of small field neurons that enter laterally to invade glomerulus-like zones in the f.b. that are also connected to the paired noduli. An element of the ellipsoid body (e.b.) can also be made out as a fainter profile. The upper margin of the superior arch (s.ar.) is indicated by a diffuse arrangement of tangential elements.
