The noduli are densely packed ball-like neuropils that belong to the central body complex. This Golgi reconstruction illustrates their concentric architecture into a core (no core) and shell (no shell). The cluster of processes above the left nodulus belong to a terminal in the ellipsoid body (eb) derived from a dendrite of the protocerebral bridge.
