Golgi impregnation of mb beta lobe

Golgi-impregnated Kenyon cell axons provide a discrete subset within the core of the alpha and beta lobes. Compare with the fuller staining pattern exhibited by enhancer trap line c739 and other selective patterning in the mushroom body lobes.

The approximate true width of alpha is indicated. Profiles of other Kenyon cell axons in the heel project exclusively to the gamma lobes anteriorly. Note the bulbous tips of (bulb ß) at the end of ß and at the tip of alpha. The mushroom body lobes can also be seen clearly in reduced silver sections.
