Three neurons with unistratified ring-shaped terminals in the ellipsoid body showing their lateral glomeruli (eb. l. gl) in the lateral triangles of the central complex (see Hanesch et al. 1989)and the origin of their cell bodies (cb eb) in anterior lateral rind. This image was made from the fusion of 10 optical sections from 3 consecutive plastic sections.
Golgi impregnation of the ellipsoid body (at y= -0.00 of frontal Silver Stain Atlas). Other ring-shaped neurons with bistratified processes contribute to this region of the central body complex.
