The inferior medial protocerebrum is a non-glomerular neuropil lying above the antennal lobes. The mild asymmetry between the left and right half of each section is due to a slight clockwise skew around the z-axis. At this level, the most frontal part of the mushroom body gamma lobes is just visible.
