The mechanosensory neuropils (mech. sens. l. deut) contribute axons to the maxillary suboesophageal commissure (max. su. oes. c). Already visible at this level are a pair of larger axons of descending neurons (dn) into the ventral nerve cord. Lateral to them are many ascending axons (an) which sweep laterally into the lateral deutocerebral fascicle (l. deut. fasc) to enter the most lateral and ventral (according to the neuraxis) deutocerebral neuropil (deut. asc. neu). The large antennal lobe multiglomerular neuron (ant. mult. gl) can be followed through to the next + z level.
