The largest heterolateral commissure (ant. su. oes. c) carries deutocerebral interneurons and axons of DNs that project contralaterally into the cord. This level also reveals the cross sections of clusters of large axoned descending neurons (lateral descending neuron cluster from the lateral deutocerebrum; l. dn. cl., from the antero-medial deutocerebrum; m. dn. cl).
