This level illustrates the superior ellipsoid tract (s. e. t), flanked by many other as yet unnamed, tracts that connect various lobes of the lateral protocerebrum and superior medial protocerebrum. The clear zone flanking and also at the center of the brain is the uppermost part of the curved superior arch (s. ar). At this level the outer antennal glomerular tract (o. ant. gl. t) distributes its axons into the dorso-medial protocerebrum (d. m. pr), at a level beneath the mb calyces (see level z = + 4.80).
