The protocerebral bridge (pr br) is invaded by fibers from the extensive dorsal fascicle of the protocerebrum (i. b. [inner branch] d. fasc. pr). The antenno-glomerular tract now sweeps laterally, passing just ventral to the calyces into which it provides axon collateral endings. The tract converges at the lateral horn (l. ho) with the outer branch (o. b) of the d. fasc. pr.
The left and right protocerebral lobes are almost entirely separated by the
pars intercerebralis (pars.in). Because the preparation is slightly tilted,
the
-lobe (
-lo) of the mushroom body on the -X side of the brain is shown
with the beginning of its
characteristic distal enlargement into a "head".
