This section shows the globuli cell bodies (glob). These are the perikarya of mushroom body intrinsic neurons, often referred to as Kenyon cells. Globuli cells are the smallest neurons of the mid-brain and hallmark mushroom bodies in insects and many other segmented invertebrates.
