3D surface models (VRML)

VRML (Virtual Reality Modeling Language) models are 3D surface models and can be downloaded, viewed and manipulated on your local machine.

Raytraced movie files

These Quicktime movies were created from sets of raytraced images of the confocal stack. Viewpoints were shifted from frame to frame to create a movie that simulates the object turning in space. Specimen 1, which is also available as an interactive surface rendered 3D model, is represented with a 3.3 MB movie that shows the antennal lobe from all viewpoints. The other specimens are represented with smaller (1.4-2MB) movies with less viewpoints. Italic font indicates the initial position of the lobe.

The current version of the Quicktime movie player is available from http://apple.com/quicktime

Confocal stacks

Confocal stacks are available as Quicktime files. These have been reduced in X/Y to 256x256 and retain their original Z size. Neuropils surrounding the antennal lobe have been cut away in these stacks for volume rendering from all viewpoints. All stacks begin with the anterior face and proceed to posterior. Italic font indicates the initial position of the lobe.
