Support

Implementation of the pilot version of Flybrain at the University of Arizona, October 1994, was enabled by seed money from the Office of the Vice-President of Research from University of Arizona. Support also derived from an SGR Grant [NSF#IBN9316729] from the National Science Foundation and a postgraduate studentship to Douglas Armstrong from the UK Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council. A database on Drosophila brain and neural mutants developed by Prof. Karl-Friedrich Fischbach at the University of Freiburg, Germany, was merged with Flybrain in March, 1995.

NSF
Support for the years 1996 and 1997 were from the US National Science Foundation [NSF#DBI9507217]. Current funds from 1997 to 2000 are from the US National Science Foundation [NSF#DBI9723657] (Database Activities in the Biological Sciences Program).


UofA
Facilities/technical support for the Tucson server is provided by the University of Arizona's ARL Division of Neurobiology.


DFG
Support for Flybrain's Freiburg mirror site and contributions is from the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft [BIB45 FEub 01-01].
