BEN expression in late third instar CNS of Drosophila transformant (Gal4 line(Mz1407)/UAS-ben)

Third instar larval CNS shows highest BEN immunoreactivity in the neuropil regions of the optic lobe, the central brain, and - in this confocal section most strongly - in the ventral ganglion.

Gal4(Mz1407)/UAS-ben individuals develop normally into healthy adults with a structurally normal nervous system.
